Installing and Setting up myTrack


Step 1. Downloading myTrack software from the Internet

- or -    Install myTrack software from the CD

Step 2. Run Setup Wizard to complete installation
Step 3. Reboot your PC
Step 4
. Launch myTrack and enter Login information
Step 5. Create a shortcut icon on your Windows desktop


Step 1. Downloading myTrack software from the Internet

1. Go to the myTrack website (http://www.mytrack.com) and click on Download myTrack.

2. From the Download page, go to Step two and click on Click here to download myTrack now!.

3. Below that link, you will see the listing labeled File Name. Write down the file name (mtkrxxxx.exe) listed under this heading, as you will need to reference it later.

4. The Save As... dialog box will appear next. Click the Save button and the file will start to download. Downloading time depends on speed of connection and can take anywhere from 8 minutes to an hour. Once download is complete, close your internet connection and return to your main screen.

5. Click the Start button (usually located in the lower left-hand corner of your screen). Then, on the Start menu, click Find followed by Files or Folders.

6. In the Find... dialog box, click the Name & Location tab.

7. In the Named box, type the file name you wrote down in Step 3. Be sure the name is typed in completely and correctly.

8. Click on the down-arrow located all the way to the right of the Look In box and click on (C:). Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked, then click Find Now.

9. Once your computer has completed its search, the file you have requested will appear listed at the bottom of the Find... dialog box. Double click on the file name. This self-extracting file opens the myTrack Setup program.

Install myTrack software from the CD

1. Place the myTrack CD in your CD Rom drive.

2. Click Start to open the Start menu and then click Run.

3. From the Run dialog box, click Browse.

4. Click on the down-arrow located all the way to the right of the Look In box and double click on the drive that is designated as your CD Rom drive (usually D:). Click once on the myTrack self-extracting file (mtkrxxxx.exe) and then click Open. The Run dialog box will reappear with the file name displayed in the Open box.

5. Click OK to open the myTrack Setup program.

Step 2. Run Setup Wizard to complete installation

1. The Setup Wizard completes the installation process. The Welcome screen appears first. Click Next and follow the instructions on each of the following screens.

2. On the User Information screen, enter your name and the name of your company. Click Next.

3. The screen titled Choose Destination Location is used to specify a folder for the myTrack program. The default (automatic) location is C:\Program Files\myTrack. It is recommended that you use the default setting and click Next. If you desire, you may customize your setting by using the Browse button. After entering your customized location, click Next.

4. The dialog box titled Select Program Folder will appear. The default folder name is myTrack. You can accept the default, type a new name, or select one from the Existing Folder list. Again, it is suggested that the default settings be used. To accept the entered name, click Next.

5. The next screen is titled Start Copying Files. On this screen, click Next.

6. Once all files have been copied, the Setup Complete screen will appear. Select "Yes, restart my computer now" and click Finish.

7. In the second Setup Complete screen, make sure the "Yes, launch the program" box is NOT checked and click Finish.

Step 3. Launch myTrack and enter Login information

1. Log onto the Internet.

2. Click Start, then Programs. Click on the myTrack submenu and then click myTrack to start the program.

3. The Welcome to myTrack dialog box will appear. If you are a new user, click New. If you already have a User Name and Password, and are reinstalling the software, click Existing.

New Users:

• A dialog box asking if you are behind a firewall will appear. If you are not behind a firewall or are unsure, click No. Yes should be clicked only if you are connecting through a company server or your first attempt using No was unsuccessful. If you are behind a firewall, you will need to email support@tdc.com for further instructions.

• At the Terms and Conditions form, read then click I Accept.

• The New User Form will appear. Fill in all necessary information, including a user name of your choice and a password that is at least 6 characters long. Once you have filled in all the required information, click Accept. If the user name that you have selected is already in use, you will be prompted to select another.

Existing Users:

• At the myTrack Login screen, type in your user name and password. The Host ID and Port ID information are as follows:

Host ID: host.mytrack.com

Port ID: 9983

• Once you have entered all information, click OK.

Note: If you are behind a firewall, you will need to email support@trackdata.com for further instructions.

Step 4. Create a shortcut icon on your Windows desktop (optional)

1. Return to your Windows desktop (main screen) and click your right mouse button anywhere on your screen that is an open space (Do not click on any icons). Click your left mouse button on New then Shortcut.

2. From the Create Shortcut screen, select Browse.

3. Click on the down-arrow located all the way to the right of the Look In box and click (C:). Then double click on Program Files, followed by myTrack, followed by myTrack.exe.

4. You will automatically return to the Create Shortcut screen, which will contain "C:\Program Files\myTrack\myTrack.exe" in the Command Line box. Click Next.

5. The Select A Title for the Program screen will appear. Type myTrack and then click Finish.
