| Using HTML Access HTML Access lets you visit nearly any conventional Web site on the Internet by choosing Enter Site on your phones Web Sites menu. Most of the built-in Internet services and sites available from the Home menu are customized to work with an UP.Phone. HTML Access lets you visit the millions of Web sites that are not customized to work with an UP.Phone. The availability of the HTML Access feature depends on how your wireless network operator has constructed their Home menu. HTML Access allows you to visit Web sites:
Note: HTML Access might have a label other than Enter Site on your phone, e.g. Sprint displays "Go to ...".Visiting a Web site TO VISIT A PARTICULAR WEB SITE :1. Locate the Enter Site item (or its equivalent) on your phones display and position the > mark next to it. This item is usually at the end of the list of bookmarks.2. Press the OK softkey.The phone displays: " Go to site:", "Enter a Site:", etc.3. Using the keys on the phone, enter a URL to a Web site youd like to view on your phone. For example, to enter the myTrack site enter, phone.mytrack.com. To enter a "dot" or "period" press the "1" key twice.4. Then press the OK softkey.The UP.Link displays the text and links from Unwired Planets Web site on your phone. Note: Some images on Web site pages display only on phones or devices capable of showing them. Otherwise, only text and links are displayed.
Using Bookmarks You can bookmark useful services and screens and save the bookmarks in a list for future reference. Your Bookmark list is usually accessible from the Home menu. The availability of a Bookmark list depends on the content of your wireless network operators Home menu. When you first use the UP.Browser, the Bookmark list is empty. As you explore the services in the directory, you can build a Bookmark list of your favorite services. You can also bookmark Contact phone numbers. If a particular service cant be bookmarked, an error message is shown. Creating a bookmark 1. Go to the service or screen you want to add to your Bookmark list.2. Press the Mark button (or its equivalent) on your phone. If the screen has a title, the UP.Browser software automatically supplies a name based on the name of the screen you are viewing. If you want a different or shorter name, you can change the book-mark name at this point. Use the phones editing keys to change the name.3. Press the Submit softkey. A message appears confirming that the bookmark was added to the list.4. Press the OK softkey again to return to the screen you bookmarked. The new bookmark is added to the end of the Bookmark list.Note: If your phone does not have a Mark button, use the Mark Site item on the Browser Menu (see the features card that came with your phone for information about how to access the Browser menu).Going to a bookmark 1. From the Home menu, choose Bookmarks, then, if necessary, press the OK softkey.2. Choose the bookmark you want and, if necessary, press the OK softkey. |
